General

Does Pappy’s have any age requirements?

Our age requirement is 4 months for daycare, grooming, and lodging services. Dogs aged 4 months or older are welcome to participate in our daycare program. Dogs aged 6 months or older must be spayed or neutered in order to participate.

Can I tour Pappy’s before bringing my dog?

Absolutely! We love giving tours. We do recommend stopping by for a tour Mon. – Fri. from 10 am to 1 pm and Sat. & Sun. from 10 am to 1 pm. However, we do suggest that you leave Fido at home if you plan to tour our facility.

Does Pappy’s have any leash requirements?
We strongly recommend you leash your dog while in our facility for your dog’s safety.
What vaccinations does Pappy's require?

Our vaccinations requirements for dogs:

Rabies current with your vet
Distemper/Parvo (DPHHC) current with your vet
Bordetella (Kennel Cough) given every 6 months

Our vaccination requirements for cats:

Rabies current with your vet
FVRCP current with your vet

We have a 72 hour waiting period after vaccinations are administered prior to visiting Pappy’s. We ask that puppies and kittens receive their last set of vaccinations a minimum of 7 days before visiting Pappy’s.

Why does my dog need a Bordetella vaccination every 6 months when my vet says every year is fine?

We require the Bordetella vaccination every 6 months for your dog’s health and safety. We follow this policy due to the recommendations of our veterinary partners. Due to the increased exposure to other dogs that your dog will experience, an additional Bordetella shot is a precautionary measure to ensure they stay protected and healthy.

Does Pappy's have any breed restrictions?

Yes. We are unable to care for Cane Corsos.

Daycare

Why should my dog participate in daycare?

There are many benefits of a daycare. Daycare provides socialization that is essential for teaching your dog how to behave around other dogs in a safe and secure environment. Daycare also provides mental stimulation and exercise which are important for your dog’s health. Regular daycare visits create a routine that your dog craves. Overall, daycare can truly enrich your dog’s life in many ways.

Does Pappy's do "Meet & Greets" or evaluations before I bring my dog for daycare?

No, Pappy’s does not require a “meet and greet” before your dog tries daycare. We will inform you how your dog does on their first visit.

Do I need to make a reservation for daycare?

Some of our enrichment centers do require reservations for daycare services. Please check with your Pappy’s if daycare reservations are required.

Why does my dog seem thirsty after daycare?

We do not keep water bowls in our indoor daycare rooms for multiple health and safety reasons. Instead, we ensure each dog has access to fresh water during our nap period every day. If your dog is new to daycare, they can often come home thirsty from the exercise and play.

Why can't I see my dog on the webcams?

All of our enrichment centers have free webcam access in the daycare play areas. If you’re unable to see your dog and you asked for them to participate, contact your Pappy’s to verify.

There are other reasons you may be unable to see your dog on the webcams. Your dog may be out of view of the webcams. Your dog may have become overstimulated from play and needed a break to calm down.

Lodging

What do I need to bring?

We recommend bringing your pet’s own food during their stay at Pappy’s. All of our enrichment centers are equipped with a refridgerator so we welcome any cold items you incorporate in your pet’s diet. Lodge food is available if you’re unable to bring your pet’s food for an additional cost. We also suggest bringing items from home to make your pet more comfortable during their stay if you can, that may include: toys, a pet bed, or t-shirt that smells like you. Having familar scents around comforts your pet in their new environment. This is especially important for first time lodgers. If you are lodging your cat, do not worry about bringing your cat’s litter. All of our enrichment centers provide litter boxes and litter. If you are lodging your exotic animal, please bring the bedding materials you use and enough extra bedding material should we need to clean their cage during their stay.

What if I forgot my pet's belongings?

All of our enrichment centers are stocked with comfort items like beds, blankets, and Kuranda cots which we furnish during your pet’s stay if you’ve forgotten your pet’s belongings. We also have lodge food available for an additional cost if you forget your pet’s food.

How do I make a reservation?
Reservations can be made by requesting one through our Parent Portal or by calling the Pappy’s Pet Lodge that you wish your pet to stay at.

No, unfortunately, Pappy’s does not groom cats.

Why did the price of my dog's groom change?

Grooming pricing is depend on many factors, including condition of your dog’s fur/coat, your dog’s temperament during their groom, and the amount of time necessary for the groomer to complete your dog’s groom, dependent on the skills and techniques utilized during the groom. We strongly recommend following a routine grooming schedule so your dog’s coat/fur maintenance is less extensive each visit. Speak with your Pappy’s team about setting up reoccuring grooming appointments that will work best for your dog.

Do you allow walk-in services?

Grooming is made by appointment. Contact your specific Pappy’s for same-day availability. We do accept walk-ins for toe nail trims.
